>>
Right into the trash.
>>
It takes a lot of balls to do what apple does and get away with it.
>>
>>385388131
well I am buying it for le programming and typing some text
>>
>>385388045
just google emulators for mac lol
>>
>>385388610
well you know me anon, why bother googling when I can ask directly in a board
>>
>>385388045
I think it should run some older SNES emulators with the settings turned down

probably overheat, though
>>
>>385388131

>>
3/10

Good try, haven't seen simple work like this in a while.
>>
>>385388202
>Programming and typing
You realize that you can do the second on any OS and the first far better and easier on not Macs, right? Save yourself a few hundred and don't get one
>>
>>385388202
nigga dont buy an air if you want to program

get retina
>>
>>385388045
Get Openemu.

Frontend for Arcade, GB, GBA, NES, SNES, DS, Genesis/CD, PSP, PS1, Turbografx and more. Basically a program using cores from several different emulators. Runs well and has a great interface.

>>385390578
you HAVE TO write and publish ios app via apple device
tried working on hackintosh, the thing was terrible
>>
>>385391296
>Developing for apple
sucks to be locked into their walled garden, doesn't it? I wish I could help you but you're on your own
>>
>>385391296
why are you writing ios apps

ios is dead bro android is going to start taking 20% of their market share per year. iphones arent even slightly good anymore.
>>
>>385391484
android is not a problem too, heck it's even easier to write android apps on a macbook
>>
>>385390753

>>
>>385388045
Don't buy an air nigga
get a used pro

Air's havent been substantially updated in years.

I think they still have the horrible tn panel from 2011.
>>
Air can't run shit. Can't even handle PPSSPP.

do NOT play Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon 2 on Mac N64 emulators. As soon as you get to the level where you need to use Yae and go into mermaid form all of the enemies are invisible and so is your character so it's fucking impossible to play

sold my macbook air after a year for exactly what I bought it for, that's the only saving grace

buy something else
>>
>>385388045
Just splurge a little bit and get the Macbook nigga you know you want it
>>
Why next month? buy now
>>
>>385388045
It can run most retro stuff. Unix emulators are coded pretty well. Macbooks aren't really good for anything else but work though.
>>
>>385390753
>Arcade, GB, GBA, NES, SNES, DS, Genesis

you seem to know your shit, what's the best regular pc emulator to run all these
>>
>>385395217
Nah they have 1440p IPS now.

>Air's havent been substantially updated in years
This is true. They have only made them smaller. The hardware was pretty taxed with 720p screens. 1440p will be like running a slow ass oven.
>>
>>385398809
why would you play mystical ninja starring goemon 2

the first one was perfect, the sequel was just not fun
>>
Why do people buy Apple?

was this the peak of mac gaming?
>>
>>385401240
From what I hear, it's prepackaged with good sound/video design software that would cost a pretty penny by itself on another platform. So if you work with that shit and need to be on the legal side, mac makes sense economically.
>>
>>385401240
it just werks
>>
>>385401240
The operating system, very easy to navigate and user friendly to someone who doesn't know how to use computers, like normies

I only have a mac because my family grew up using them, so I just continue using them
>>
>>385401181
fuck you and your shit taste, both games are good
>>
>>385401240
Nicer experience overall if you are not looking at stuff that requires power. I use a MBP for general web surfin' and work stuff.

The gestures on the touchpad actually work. I never get bombarded with constant notifications and bloatware. OSX mostly hides all the technical shit in the background. So if I need to do something for a client I just log in and start working.

When I use my gaymin PC, booting into Windows 7 and 10 is always cumbersome... I feel like I am constantly needing to maintain it. There are always updates, pending notifications, blah blah has stopped working etc etc. Like nigga, I just want to log into steam. Fuck off. That's just how windows is. I find I reinstall every so often just to keep up with the mess.
>>
>>385401002
The popular choice is Retroarch. It's really powerful and versatile, but its interface is purely designed for a controller - it feels like navigating PS3 menus.

If you want something strictly windows-like, either get Bizhawk or a mouse-based frontend for Retroarch.calle fiestpad.
>>
Just buy a regular Laptop and install Windows 7
>>
the only good MacBook Air model was the one from late 2010

PC's can barely into PS2 emulation. We're at least 7-10 years away from PS2 on mobile, let alone iOS
>>
>>385388045
Bootcamp windows 7 and install retroarch.
Anytime.
>>
What Air-sized laptop should I get then? Under 1000$
>>
>>385401240
I have a 2011 MacBook Pro that I use for art. I upgraded the HD to an SSD and gave it more ram, it runs just as good as a 2017 laptop and cost €100 to upgrade it. For a laptop that's 6 and a half years old, it's doing incredibly well. It opens photoshop in roughly 3-4 seconds.
I've bought expensive laptops in the past and none have ever made it past the 4 year mark (and start dying before then). I don't hate windows or anything, but my MacBook has never overheated or had heating/fan issues. With my previous €1,500 laptop it was constant. The one before that that cost €1,300 was the same.

Mind you, I'm talking from the perspective of someone who just uses it to draw, make music, edit videos and surf the web. I don't really game on it, but of course not, it's 6 years old and doesn't have a dedicated graphics card. In saying that it doesn't do an awful job at it either.
I wouldn't buy a laptop if I wanted to play videogames anyway, I'd build a PC.

Their chargers are fucking garbage tier though.
