Who else here shot an Angel Arrow into Teseo's Korean anus today?
Also, goddamn Ekoro is fucking weak as shit, and her super jump is a double-edged sword.
>>
The game sorta sucks and it didn't take me until I unlocked quadruple jumping to figure that out.

Has inti creates lost the ability to make good level design?

The maps on Gunvolt and this game feel so boring and plain

I dunno. I thought they were alright, but I think they're a little too easy.
Better than Gunvolt 1 (never played 2) at least, but I think a big problem is that they're kinda geared for speedrunning and less for challenge. There's a few nifty gimmicks, but they're never really fleshed out much until the last few final boss stages, and then, still not as much as they could be. However, the game was also made so that you could beat it without using any extras outside of running, jumping, and shooting your base vanilla shot, so I think that's one of the reason why the design is a little on the plain side.
That being said, Ekoro definitely feels made for blazing through levels extra fast (too bad her attack power sucks until you get the elements and attack modification). Even Miracle Mode or whatever it's called doesn't boost her base attack much. If anything, it boosts it to what Beck and GV's normal attack power is.

That being said though, most of the platforming challenge is removed playing as a modified GV though, since his air-jumps give him more versatility, which is where most of the platforming challenge comes from. He moves kinda slow though, and you have to effectively space your jumps out to really get the most of them.
Beck has the most speed in the air, making him good at dodging and horizontal sections where hazards and/or enemies are at different elevations, but can only move horizontally with his aerial action, meaning if he misses a jump, he's fucked unless he air-dashes as soon as he misses. If he doesn't, he can't recover.
Ekoro on the other hand has the perks, but also the weaknesses of both Beck and Gunvolt, along with at least one pro and con of her own.
Her high jump and glide cover roughly the same ground as a level 2 version of both air jumps and air dashes, but she glides slowly and her high jump can't be turned off. Out of instinct, you try to hold the button as long as you can to get the most air, but that's not the best option for Ekoro at times, since she might jump straight into damage or miss her landing, so you have to hold back on your button pushes at times (half A press?). On the plus side though, she's the only character who can strafe mid-air.

Oh, and things get fucking crazy when you mix water or those tractor beams (the ones where you shoot inside of them to lift yourself).
Look at this silly shit.
It's nice at first, but then it becomes a pain in the ass in some stages that have hazards on the ceilings.

Right you are, Ken.

Look at this jump though.
By jump-firing a single time, she was able to jump a shaft that's about three fucking screens long, and that's only because there was a ceiling. I don't even know how high she can actually get.

Three things that kind of suck about her miracle invulnerability though are that
1) She can still get trapped/frozen by onion ring robots and Cryosphere. No damage, but still a waste of your invuln time.
B) It does not stack with "Power-Up!" spheres. So you only get a single attack buff. It doesn't seem to over-write though, so even if you lose your miracle mode before you lose the "Power-Up!", you can still retain the attack buff and Burst bonus from it (or vice-versa).
iii) Miracle mode is a little bit gimmicky.

Let me explain. Using it over 50% drains it entirely. You want to be at 100% to maximize effectiveness of it. Being at 50% will let it work the same, but only very shortly. Being at 100% lets it last what seems to be 3 times as long. However, being over 50% will still let you hold it longer (I tried at about 80% and it did indeed last notably longer than 50% but less than 100%), but I'm not sure of the exact increments. I don't think the attack boost is effected regardless of time. That said, I kind of wish that time-wise, it was about somewhere between 50% and 100% and using it only dropped you down by 50%, even if you were just at 51% The reason being isn't so much for the invuln time, so much as the attack boost, because goddamn Ekoro is weak without any attack modifications.
It's not even by a lot, but it just takes just a little bit more extra effort to get rid of even the most basic shitter enemies. Enough that you can feel it.

I'm not 100% sure on this, but it seems like Beck is the only rival fight. He also appears to assist against Teseo's final boss fight.

A little disappointing. I was really hoping to fight both him and Gunvolt simultaneously, or at least have the rival fight swap randomly each time you select the stage. I figured that Ekoro would have to fight Gunvolt in the "Mirror" match, but nope, it's just a fight against a black and purple version of herself. So if they could have made a "new" fight for her, it's a shame they couldn't have made one for the rival fight.

I'm a little curious on who they'll have be the next DLC character though, since Ekoro is supposedly not the last. If it's Shovel Knight and Shantae again, I wonder if they'll play a little like they do in Blaster Master Zero. If so, I hope they actually do get new rival fights.

Oh, and for the curious, Ekoro's Custom Shot is something of an inbetween of Beck and Gunvolt's options.
She can use more behavior modifiers than GV, but she lacks the extensive options Beck has.
Even for those she shares between the two, her options may be different.
Case in point: Explosion's behaviors. Like GV, she can't use all options. Unlike GV, she can use size options, but not # of explosions. And, as some of you may or may not know, Beck is still Custom King as he can use both options in full for Explosion, and even further options based on his shot type.
Ekoro can also use Diagonal Fire like Beck, but lacks Beck's 45 degree option, only going up to 30 degrees (still useful though).
Etc., etc.
