Destiny 2 Story Summary

>Ghaul then worked with his political mentor to form an uprising against Calus and later organized an attack on The Traveler and the last city
>The Speaker is then executed on the spot by Ghual, who then orders the destruction of Mercury
>During this Cayde is hacking into Cabal explosives and plans on destroying the base and killing Ghaul
>Ghual exits though and we barely escape the base
>Cayde chooses to stay behind to do something last minute and is presumed dead from not making it
>The Vangaurd is torn again and our guardian is in dissaray until Lord Saladin shows up and renews our faith the same way we renewed his in the last game
>We return to the farm and see whats left of the Cabal's super weapon technology
>Cayde appears before us and had actually transmated it before the base exploded
>Him and Amanda reverse engineer it so the Vanguard can use it to destroy the machine on the Traveler and the Cabal command ship
>Both attacks are successful but Ghaul survives and is in the ruins of the last city
>Our guardian proceeds to his location in order to defeat him
>We do, and in his dying breath he says there will be more like him to take his place such as the Consul, before our Ghost exclaims that we'll always be there to save the day
>Game ends with us returning and recouping from everything while everyone from the game looks up at the Traveler as it rises up out of orbit off Earth
