Not in fucking CGI, for one, and with actual stakes and drama. There's that fucking scene where Asuka fights some random angel while running around on the stupid airship, and it goes on for like 15 minutes. The fight serves no purpose, it doesn't advance the characters in any meaningful way, and there's never a sense that anyone is in any real danger. There's also the dumb opening scene where Mari and Asuka are flying around in space, fighting some random shit.

Fight scenes need build-up and catharsis, and the fights in the Rebuilds, particularly in 3.0, have neither. This is why Ramiel is one of the most memorable fight scenes in the series, despite it hardly being a fight. The confrontation is built-up masterfully, which creates dramatic tension, and the relief of that tension when the operation succeeds, the catharsis, is sensational.

The rebuild copied the "broken" aspect but didnt gave an explanation of why. There is many possible explanations, and none was given. Most are based around they fearing shinji.

Shinji showed plenty of emotions in the original NGE, He actually grows as a characters which is why in the end when he goes into a downward spiral it packs more of a punch. Whereas in the rebuilds Shinji is a generic mech anime protagonist shooting lasers out of his eyes while screaming and saving Rei.
The "Asuka and Rei cooking for shinji scenes" are literally fan-service for disgusting weebs. Although I'll agree that the Rei becoming more emotional is some character development (which is wiped out like, 20 minutes later in 3.0) it doesn't justify the complete gutting of characters like Misato, Ritsuko, Maya, and Asuka who've backgrounds have been completely wiped.

He was really confused about the situation. He was trying to get the spears of Longinus and Cassius, but he realized that that there were 2 Spears of Longinus instead of the Cassius. He realized that he got tricked (again) and announces that he's discovered what Gendo is up to, but he never actually explains it. After being tricked he just lets Shinji kill him (again).

No sorry, I misread the question. WILLE wanted Shinji in order to avoid Third Impact (started in 2.22) so NERV sent him and Unit 01 into space to avoid WILLE. NERV probably figured that they could just go back and pick him up whenever they wanted, or that if WILLE got to him first, he could be "rescued" and taken back (as we saw in the movie).

He put the collar on as a show of trust. It's one thing if he just took Shinji's collar off, but he takes it to a higher level. He doesn't just take the collar, but he's so confident that he puts the collar on himself and is willing to risk his own life for Shinji. I don't think that is ever what was supposed to happen. I think that is what people may have wished to happen (I sure as hell did: I just wanted Eva with better animations, some minor improvements of the story, few plot holes fixed and characters done a little more smoothly), but I don't think that is what realistically anyone ever really intended to make.

It's just Anno LITERALLY fucking about. It's painfully obvious that he did not want to make it, he had nothing to add to the story, he did not want to revisit it because to him, it's a closed chapter.
But somebody kept throwing money at him and saying "MAKE ANYTHING VAGUELY EVA RELATED AND I KEEP SHOWERING YOU WITH MONEY!" that he gave up and basically made it into his personal random sketchbook of half-formulated random visions.

The entirety of 1.0 is clearly only because he had one single idea for a cool battle.
2.0 has like 20 minutes of running time devoted to a fucking homage to Michael Crichton.
Why?
Well, Crichton wrote Sphere, one of the two main western sci-fi inspirations for Eva. So why not? Does it add anything to the story? Fuck no, but there IS no story. Everything has been told already. So why not kill stuff with random noise like this?
