Try Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Cave Story+ if you need to have carts. Wonder Boy and the Dragon's Curse is also pretty damned amazing if you don't mind digital only games.

the console itself is fine. its like a larger than normal phone but with controller attachments on the sides.

I was really excited for this thing, and its potential. I still think it can reach that, but as it is, there's nothing making me want to buy. I have Zelda on my Wii U, and until Mario Odyssey there's zero reason for me to get.

I refuse to get it anyway until I know what the situation on Virtual Console is. The idea of this being a portable all-Nintendo games is exciting, but if they start drip feeding us overpriced shitty NES for 5 years what's the point?

I just wanted a console. I haven't cared about handhelds since I was a kid. There's no reason why a game that looks like BotW shouldn't be playable at 1080p and beyond. The Switch is just so underpowered it's pathetic

But that's exactly what docked mode does in most cases.. increase the resolution to 1080p. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, ARMS, Minecraft, and Fast RMX is to name a few. Splatoon 2 goes up to 1080 too but it depends how much is going on.
