Is starbound worth it? Or should I get something else?

stay very far from starbound. it's a worse version of terraria that people buy because "duuude its terraria, but in space!". what they fail to realize is that starbound isn't a good game, whereas terraria is.

Starbound was kinda fun on earlier versions.
Now it has that shit story mode and it's fucking garbage.

It's okay
I've clocked about 1k hours in terraria.
Started before hardmode was introduced, way before that.
Since then I'd start a new game, new character with every major update.
I'd beat the game with every "class" and get bored of it.
Starbound felt like a breath of fresh air.
At least in early versions.
It just felt so comfy to sit near campfire at night to avoid freezing.
To watch the morning fog.
To hide in caves when rain started. I was a glitch and I'm pretty sure rain was damaging me. I liked it more like that.
Now it's all dumbed down.
Too hot/cold planet, build this item and be immune to it all forever lmao xd
I really miss those old versions.
Still, I like space and spaceships, ocean planets are appealing to me, so my opinion is biased.
Tl; dr I'm burned out on Terraria and Starbound feels great.
