I felt like he really exaggerated how "dumb" the game is. He showed on his chart that splatoon is dumber than cod, which I dont think is true. While it's certainly more shallow than overwatch, I don't think it's as mindless as cod. He also showed footage of himself spawn killing a bunch of players and claimed this was proof the game was broken, but in reality its very difficult to get an enemy spawn point and hold your position there.

Also he called the spawn jump a "suicide button" which is fucking retarded because youre not really supposed to use it unless you have the ability that hides where your jumping to from enemy players

Believe it or not but being good at COD takes quite a bit of skill, so much in fact they have tournaments like every other month for hundreds of thousands.

His main problem is that he was so low level he only got paired up with other low level players which in a week after launch is only kids. If he played for more then just a few hours he'd get past that but I don't even think he even unlocked salmon run.

I love splatoon but I'm not going to lie, the grind to grow levels is ridiculous. I played religiously once it dropped and it took me two days to unlock ranked.
Everyone who shits on this game who's played it almost exclusively has no valid criticisms; the actual problem is how long it takes for you to get to level ten which causes newbies to write it off quickly after a few turf wars as a fresh copy will pair you only with the lowest players and have everything locked.

I'm honestly having trouble figuring out how serious he was being. Not only did he says stuff like buckets and snipers suck, but when he did he used footage of Moray Towers, literally sniper-palooza the map.

I'm also disappointed he didn't talk about the completely retarded way they handled Horde mode at all.

I like dunkey but this one was a little more spiteful than his usual stuff. He made jokes but it definitely wasn't as lighthearted as his other content, even his super critical reviews.

I dunno, he's allowed to feel that way. The game's fun for me but if he didn't like it then he's allowed to make a video saying such. We shouldn't put him in such a tight little box where he isn't allowed to surprise us with an opinion.

I understand that it's his opinion and all, but I thought Dunkey's reasoning was fucking nonsensical. His "review" was awful, he only vented out his frustrations from what I can presume to have been the first 10 minutes of the game he played. He didn't touch on any of ranked, he didn't even make any mention of salmon run. He belittles anybody who uses motion controls despite being generally agreed on by the core fanbase to be the best way to play and makes it blatantly obvious that he didn't bother playing anything other than ranked when he calls the chargers and sloshers shit. It wasn't even a funny video, none of his newest videos have been funny. This was a pretty bad review, and if it wasn't a review, I dunno what it was supposed to be other than an angry rant.

Well if you just jump to someone who is in the middle of a battle no shit you're most likely going to die. Look at the enemies on the map and the ink surrounding your teammate to know it's safe. That's the price to pay if you're going to fly right back into the action.

Most people, including pros, agree that it's the most precise way of aiming. 60% or more people used the gyro controls in Splatoon 1. Also every weapon has a different way of shooting ink. Something like the .96 gal is a 2 shot kill but the ink isn't accurate The splattershot pro is super precise.

Ranked mode exists, with 3 different modes, and it's the main meat of the multiplayer. In ranked spreading ink everywhere isn't to win, but to give you territory to move around, because movement plays a big roll in the game. The more ink you have surrounding you, the better you'll perform in battle.

So looking away from your screen to look at another small screen is better than just quickly flashing a map on your TV? Splatoon 2's map is oddly a lot more intuitive, it's much more easy to spot everything on the map, and it becomes very easy to aim exactly where you want on the map, as opposed to the Wii U version where you have to look down and take your hand off the control and tap on something.

Perfection

I enjoy Splatoon 2 but I think he's mostly right, the game could've been called Splatoon Deluxe and reactions would've been the same. It's fun and charming but we shouldn't give Nintendo a free pass for a rehash along the lines of the NSMB series.
