I'm not sure what to think of it so far. I've only played a little bit of Single Player from Splatoon 1 and I'm trying to complete single player in Splatoon 2. I'm having fun so far, running ( and swimming) and gunning with the Joycons feels very tight, fluid, and fun, and I find I'm still having some fun replaying levels with different weapons and learning how to use them.

I want to complete single player and unlock all of the hero weapons before I touch online. Yes I know that's retarded, but fuck you I don't care.

I like Dunkey but I wish he would play salmon run or ANY of the ranked modes. But in truth we all know complaining about the controls is just admitting you suck ass because they are clearly fine

I don't care for most of the maps. I didn't expect to love all maps but I expected it to be offset by having every previous map return, but that wasn't the case sadly.

The specials are pretty unbalanced. I'm glad there are no krakens or wallhacks, but some of them are just complete dogshit you'd rather just not use them ever, and then you have ink armor always turning the tide of the battle when used at the right moment.

The fashion is decent, customizing the gear just the way you want it is gonna be grindy as fuck though but at least you won't run out of stuff to use money on.

Ink brush is very fun, but gets shat on by aerospray thanks to the ridiculous close range damage it does without effort. And aerospray just happens to be present in every single match being used by several people in both teams.

The lobby options for playing with friends are just terrible.

I love the game but I expected it to be crammed with content, and to be less clumsy with the online features. But it feels like I'm playing just launch-Splatoon 1 all over again with different maps and slightly better balance.

I don't get how anyone can take this video as an argument that string ray is good considering this is a professional player fighting against reviewers. Nearly all the kills in this video are just the charger itself, which is a very powerful weapon in the hands of such a good player, and a tiny handful of sting ray kills on reviewers who don't know shit about the game and are standing still. The charger is a powerful weapon when you know how to use it, the sting ray is not. The sting ray may or may not be buffed depending on if Nintendo decides to balance the charger around the pro players or the average player, but regardless the string ray special is terrible.

You know you can scrub for more than one chunk at a time, right? Level up gear brands that are predisposed toward rolling certain abilities, maybe supplement it with a ticket from Sean's, and you might get three of the chunk you want with one scrub. Level up three blanked out pieces of gear at the same time and you'll get the most out of the drink ticket, too. You can get 20,000 in like half and hour to an hour in ranked (even faster if you used the exploit for food tickets), and tons of money in salmon run, too.

2 hits with the trislosher is 38 frames. The only weapons that kill slower are the slosher, the dynamo roller, and chargers. If you ever lose a fight against a trislosher it's because you got ambushed or you are shit and missed too many shots. Splattershots kill in 18 frames.

The only reasons I can think of for this are not wanting to split the playerbase between 3 modes and/or not wanting people to cheese rewards. Neither reason is a good enough justification.

I know not all boss salmonids are supposed to be equally difficult but holy shit, I've never not wiped when two Flyfish are on the map at once. They either need an alternate method of being taken down or only be able to target one person per attack.

I like all the stages so far but it feels like there's less than there was at the start of Splatoon 1. Port Mackerel, Moray Towers, Musselforge Fitness, Starfish Mainstage, Humpback Pumptrack, and The Reef. If there's any more stages, I've never been online for them.

Right now you have to wait for them to open, save your ink, and aim carefully to hit their silos. The problem is that in high-level Salmon Run, it's not wise to ever stop moving or shooting.

Yeah, just some changes to how it works because right now it requires far more coordination than any other boss. Even the Grillers and Mothership don't require as much as efficient Flyfish kills.

Like, Maws can be baited out, can be killed with normal shots, and only takes one bomb to kill. Flyfish have a set cycle, carefully aim a bomb, and unless you have immaculate ink management and arrived right when it opened it's launchers, coordinate carefully with another person so you don't both bomb the same side, AND they can hit the entire map to boot.

Nothing feels better than ranking up on a match you personally dunked the rainmaker in

They're not great.

They FEEL like they do a lot of work because it's a nice, thick, consistent line of coverage, but the same results can be achieved with an aerospray, and faster. The real way to play with them is the same way you'd use an ink/octobrush, but that's also real fuckin' slow.

God I want to get good with the carbon roller but I just can't seem to get a flow with it. Loved it back in splatoon 1 but been getting wrecked with it so far. Had a 7 game loss streak tonight that pushed me to 25-25 win-loss. Tried out the splattershot pro a bit and liking it so far. Ink cloud is good for pressure, and the sensor thing is great for tracking enemies. I have a few ink regen traits and 2-3 main ink usage ones, so generally ink is no problem.

Still wish I didn't feel like I sucked all the time though, goddamn.
