Actually I've been wondering the same thing myself so I began to do some research. It took quite a bit of digging but I found some strange abstract motivator known as "fun." I hadn't ever heard of that before so I thought it was just some shill nonsense, but it turns out that this "fun" thing drives a lot of people to do a lot of different things. I tried to learn more about this "fun" but it's so difficult to research because it seems to be completely subjective. How convenient. I think it's all just a meme and people don't actually buy these games, but who knows.

I always felt that KH haters were mostly composed out of the PC gaming demographic since even Nintendo console players have experienced a good amount of the KH games, and PC user.

I blame SE there too, 13 years without a main entry title have created an ugly gap where 2 generation of kids never got to enjoy the games.
