The Y-Wing is the workhorse of the rebel fleet. It’s not quick or flashy but it gets the job done. The armor on this ship is extensive, and the shields will protect you from just about anything, which is good, because you won’t be going anywhere fast. The Y-Wing is used mainly as a bomber because it can carry a heavy payload of missiles, torpedoes and bombs. Unfortunately Halo 3 introduced too many anti-vehicle weapons. Rocket launcher, Spartan Laser, Fuel Rod Cannon, Missile Pod, Plasma Pistol, Power Drain, Mine. Getting into a vehicle in 3 and later is pretty much a death sentence.

I liked the hornet better because you could have two people sit on the side. Reach had the other one without weapons for the pilot and the machine guns for passengers. Always liked dropping people off and just supporting in multiplayer.

getting armor in 3 was infinitely more sastifying than just leveling up and buying them in Reach though. Reach also had a way to identify edgy shitters when they wear that skull helmet, those huge shoulder pieces with the knife on them and and a black visor

Black visor was my shit because it went with my purple/grey color scheme, but I agree with the edge. Mainly with the Emile EVA helmet and the shoulder pads with the kukri.

Only Rocket Launcher, power drain, and the Spartan laser were a threat. The rest were either not in multiplayer, really rare, or too shit to stop banshees/warthogs/etc.

I think that the swooping curvy model from the Trilogy is better looking than the stumpy angular model introduced in Reach, which resembles a cross between the Banshee and the Ghost. I'm angry that 343 chose to use that ugly model in the remaster of CE. Pic related is from a Custom Edition campaign mod, and has become my favorite interpretation of the Banshee.

I used to be invincible in this thing on the computer port of CE. Nobody could shoot me down and I would stay in it the entire match, totally shutting down the other team's efforts to capture the flag. It was for the best that they made vehicles destructible in the sequels.
