I think stalker is the best out of these because it's graphically superior, mods great improve the game compared to other rpg mods for other games, the interaction with the world is greater. More stuff happens and the world does not feel empty, bland or copypasted.

Playing the game on vanilla has become kind of a ritual. You either get it or you don't get it.

3 is the best technically. But the pacing is horrible for new players. You'll be confused and probably just wander around getting BTFO by everything you encounter. At least that was my experience so I dropped the series for a few months. SOC has a hard beginning but overall better flow, introducing you to new enemies slowly and an awesome ending sequence. It got me hooked and going back to COP it was much more enjoyable.

I liked Call of Pripyat better than Shadow of Chernobyl, except swapping their act 3's would be nice. Although, Shadow of Chernobyl did have that part where you go west (I think) and there is a group of bandits and you hear them say "I see someone coming" and they try to ambush you or whatever. It's the place that leads to those science guys. That was really good.

This is correct actually. Stalker has not aged well at all.

Are we talking vanilla? The gunplay and gunfights are still pretty good. The game doesn't seem like it to new players because the Makarov is such unbelievable garbage it's a chore to use and it's your only option at the start. CoP fixed this. Navigating anomolies is also well done and fun.

Not even. Use angles and learn to aim and resposition. You die in two hits but all the enemies do too and headshots are instant kills. Again SoC lies at the start because the Makarov is hugely inaccurate and once you get a rifle this stops being an issue.
