it's a great game imo, but the director's cut version is much better. they some shit with the boss battles, some other improvements here and there and implemented the DLC into the main story, so you can play it semi-seamlessly. the game is heavily biased towards stealth though, but you can play however you want still

don't think there are any mods you need. I know there's one that reduces the piss-filter, but for one i think it really adds to the aesthetic of the game

just replay the original deus ex. because human revolution is a largely forgettable experience with some really shitty writing.

Ghosting gets your more XP, but you'll quickly run out of worthwhile augments.

I really enjoyed the commentary of the director's cut and improved boss battles, especially Barret, and hearing the lead writer explain their homeless black woman dialog outside of Sarif. They also mentioned to write Lazarus, they had a guy listen to hours and hours and hours of Alex Jones. The writing staff being a bunch of leftists of course, scoffed at the task; I'm sure they feel weird knowing the shit he's been talking about for years turned out to be real and in many cases worse than expected.

I only feel like being forced to play The Missing Link DLC made the game draw out way too long and feel like a chore. I would have preferred if they gave you the option, especially since that DLC was completely inconsequential and tedious as fuck.

On paper Director's Cut SHOULD be better, but little things like that take away from the vibe of the game. It's a patch away from being definitive. Again little things.

I actually thought Mankind Divided was better than HR, but I was pretty disappointed by how marginal an improvement it was and how the story didn't go anywhere. I wish they had better writers, the whole "augs augs augs here's bob page" shit is tiresome.

If there's any game in the series that's aged badly it's IW: It will often briefly crash to desktop every time there's a loading screen, which is every few steps because it was designed for the Xbox. The game itself isn't horrible but it isn't very good either, so in my mind it isn't really worth playing.

It's not a terrible game, but it's not as good as the first one. It's set further in the future so the story and world are much less relatable and all the areas are tiny so the game could run on Xbox.

Parts of it are really bad (universal ammo, tiny levels + long as fuck load times). But if you love Deus Ex and want more, it's worth playing.
