Haven't finished it but apparently first "normal" ending you get your forced to get backstabbed and sexually assaulted/mindbroken. Second ending when you play through again you can pick a different dialogue option and instead only get mindbroken (I think). True end has you pick a third dialogue option and end up with the best reality where you get neither raped, mindbroken, and your punk rock Shark Ex-BF hooks up with you again.

You don't have to play through the whole game again nor there are any time travel shenanigans involved, for some ungodly reason you have to go through each one (watching it and then going back to the final option) just to unlock the option to the next. Then again, the gameplay part was never a strong point in these games.

Well all the bad news happens in the last 5 minutes, most of the game is cutesy Pokemon/Animal Crossing tier wholesome goodness with some peppering of lore and more sinister motives. A lot of the payoff for the bad stuff is that your Shark Ex is surmised by everyone to be the traitor causing all this stuff when in reality its someone nobody would expect. Also because of the cutesy look the character looks like a normal fish but your blindsided when it's revealed he's also a shark

On one hand, I can't help but ask why Mogeko bothers putting combat in his games, but then I think some points in the story where it actually adds something to the plot and general atmosphere like when the evil sea or whatever starts leaking out and the enemies are completely different which only adds to the contrast on the happy-go-lucky style of previous to the eldritch abominations you're dealing with now. Even the music changing added something, so it kinda feels like the combat is a necessary evil

Gray Garden, however, could completely throw away the combat and nothing would really change

Mogeko could go far by hiring a proper guy to handle combat mechanics and battle system.

Middens is pretty great, and its sequel Gingiva isn't bad.
OFF is interesting and the puzzles are nice, but the battles are so bland you can just set the game to auto every time and it's never an issue.
Surprised no one in this thread has mentioned SPACE FUNERAL yet, that one is awesome.

In all honesty I am interested in these rpg maker games but why do all of them do the tired cliche of "starts with cutesy shit but is actually FUCKED UP" trope? Like yume nikki was weird from the start and all but things like this and undertale as examples just seem to do it for the shock.

CLASSIC GAME is pretty good, too bad the author didn't finish it.

Oh, and 1bitheart by the same person, also found on vgperson's website - it's less of an RPG and more of a watered down Danganronpa with a considerably more lighthearted tone (excluding a single mild, avoidable "horror" segment during Misato's befriending). Shame Miwashiba is only planning on doing one more game then focusing on improving their illustrations.

Characters are different and from what I've skimmed (I haven't finished the game so I haven't read it yet) it seems to follow the true route. Sal gets no focus and neither of the Normal or Bad Ends are addressed. Fukami is much more cruel, Dolphi is much more yandere, and some other changes that I'm sure will be more apparent when I actually can compare the two.

Think of it as a "movie" version of Wadanohara. From what I understand a few characters get cut out and others have a shorter appearance.

Also instead of having to go to six seals, Wadanohara just has to do two, one above the sea and in the sea.

Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea is two volumes long and ends after they stop Princess Totsusa...(yeah, her name got changed. And not just in the manga...shortly afterwards it went from Tosatsu to Totsusa in the latest game and in his character page).

Now he's starting a "sequel" series called Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea: Sea of Death Chapter....or as vgperson suggested: "Wadanohara and the Sea of Death" for short.
