The dialog has some brilliant quotes but it's mostly bad and so is the music, but the character design and animation are pretty good.
I would give it a pass just because this is a one off thing for now. If they are really doing a second season with better production values, there better be classic castlevania music and better lines of dialog, because randomly cursing ain't "mature" in any way.

If you enjoy Rondo, then check out Chronicles and IV. After those, you can go to the first 3.

If you enjoy SotN more, I suggest Aria of Sorrow. Also, DMC3 has a similar vibe, if you haven't played that yet.

Of course, there are a ton of other games to check out after that. You can't really go wrong. Even the worst Castlevanias (Order of Ecclesia and Mirror of Fate, imo) are still decent.
