Can I just say that I fucking LOVE the small details that are hidden at almost every minute of the gameplay?

I was pretty disappointed with the length of the game. The book revealing one new page at a time made me think there was a lot of story to go around, but then a bunch of pages just started getting dumped and I lost interest.

I'm not that shitposter but banner saga's system is extremely flawed. Enemies and allies alternate turns, REGARDLESS of number of enemies and allies left. So if you have 2 healthy enemies and 5-6 wounded allies, the 2 enemies will get more turns every time your guys move, for example:

>enemy unit 1's turn
>unit 2's turn
>enemy unit 2's turn
>unit 3's turn
>enemy unit 1's turn
>unit 4's turn
>enemy unit 2's turn
>unit 5's turn
>enemy unit 1's turn
>unit 1's turn
>...

there is no reason for this, and it's ALWAYS more economical to wound all enemies before killing them. If you play traditionally, you'll find yourself overrun by 2-3 healthy enemy units focusing one of your guys who's running low on skill points and armor, then once they touch his HP his combat effectiveness drops. With the turn system the 2 enemy units will just beat him to death while you reposition your other 4 guys to help.

Outside the combat system it's also a very story driven game where your decisions can result in permadeath.

One pretty neat detail I noticed is that the bard and gate keeper say they are singing the song thats sung during ascension rites.

The neat bit is that since the bard is on the left side and the gate keeper on the right, the audio matches where they are standing. The male voice comes from the left speaker and the female voice from the right speaker.

Personally I've been playing on keyboard this entire time and I like it a lot. There's a certain finesse to movement that you get with a mouse that I don't find with analogue.

If I remember correctly, the crossed out team is the team you had just fought in the second-to-the-last liberation rite which makes sense since their favor is reset to 0 when they lose so it's not like they can even compete anymore.

How it works is he makes a straight line from where he is to the end of his trail, so you swim around an enemy with your trail in like a c shape, then attack
