Mount the ISOs of 2 & 3, and then run their installers like always.
The SH1 is a PS1 rip that you gotta emulate.
The "sh2proxy" fix works as a no-cd crack as well, and is included in the pack.
If you use the NEW widescreen fixes mentioned in guide, the sh2proxy's EXE works as no-cd crack too.

In case you experience issues saving the game / not being able to edit the disp.ini, make sure the files aren't set to "Read Only", and run the game as Administrator.
If SH2 gets stuck in a black screen upon launch, close it and re-start it again.
You can now see fine emulator settings for SH1 in the guide. You may also try the newer PGXP emulator for wobble-free PS1 graphics.

My favorite Silent Hill with my favorite female protagonist in all video games.

Pretty fantastic, but brought down by some enemy types and design decisions.

The good:
>Heather is fantastic
>Story is great despite coming off a game that has a hard ending to continue from
>Characters are great, hard to tell if you can trust some people which keeps scenes tense
>Weapon variety is awesome
>Music is, as always, phenomenal with some of the best tracks in the series
>The game is beautiful and still remains one of the best examples of facial animation and camera direction in vidya
>The environments combine both mundane and crazy, like the office building and amusement park, which were really interesting and unique to see

The bad:
>Fucking Slurpers
>Enemies that are damage sponges and literally can block hallways
>Dodging attacks can be difficult, so it always feels like you have to heal
>Fucking Slurpers
>Distortion and deterioration in other world can actually make some areas difficult to see in, which makes them more tense but then you've got instant kill pits which suck
>Most weapons are outclassed by objectively better ones, such as the knife and pipe basically being thrown out the second you get the katana
>Similarly, some weapons/items feel a bit gimmicky, like the mace and jerky
>Fucking Slurpers in tight hallways
>Bosses are a mixed bag of complete push overs to what boils down to a DPS race because you can barely avoid being hit
>Only three endings, two of which can only be achieved on NG+
>MOTHERFUCKING SLURPERS KNOCKING YOU DOWN EVERY FIVE SECONDS IN TIGHT HALLWAYS, CONSTANTLY USING UP YOUR HEALING ITEMS AND SLOWING DOWN THE GAME

I would normally say it's better than some of the other SH games, but SH1, 2, and 3 are all fantastic in their own ways. SH3 can be one of the more frustrating ones to play, but by far one of the more interesting ones to revisit.
