I picked up tales of xillia 1 week ago

Shit its a pretty good game
I love the way it tells the story and the characters aren't worthless because they talk to each other.

Also picked up the f game too

I did notice that the combat is a bit wanky. My character always runs the other direction when attacking. And it feels rusty

Also Tales of is really a so-so series. Abyss is decent though, so is Phantasia (except for the godawful encounter rates, holy fuck) and Berseria. Played a bunch of other ones (Innocence, Legendia, Eternia) but they're not really that good. Still have to play Symphonia though

the emulated version vs the 3ds version is a big difference.
for starters, the emulator is full on 60FPS during battles. 3ds version has framerate drops as low as 20 when spells start flying out. not to mention that 3ds looks like ass with 240p screens, meanwhile you can upscale to 4k with emulator. makes 3D appear sharp and so does text.

Abyss was legitimately fun though.
