Fucking this. I hate how MGSV was hyped as the final chapter in the Big Boss origin story, only to have you play as a fucking hero throughout the entire game.

The entire game I was rolling my eyes asking why the braindead jackass I was playing still assumes only five minutes passed when he was refrozen instead of fifty years, why he hadn't bothered to ask how much time had passed during that moment, ect, and realized the only reason for the PC to not notice or address this was that they were actually trying to play it off like some shocking reveal instead of literally the most obvious conclusion, and actually expected the player to be so unobservant to have not instantly wondered about it themselves.

And even if PC was too unconscious from cryostasis to remember that, he should have reached that conclusion half of fucking game earlier. God damn it, this writing really was shit.

Not to mention his C virus gas not only makes zombies, but allows hundreds of year old mummified remains / corpses that have been buried for decades to not only reanimate, but to sprint and pounce.

His boss fight was just awful. Constant 1-Upping the last phase. Bigger! Stronger! Again! Again! Again! Again!

Also his death creating the umbrella logo in hundreds of gallons of blood was one of the most idiotic things I've seen in RE.

At the very least, they could have had him/her address the possibility. Would it really have been that hard to throw a few lines in where say, Nick points out there's no telling how long they were refrozen, and the protagonist implies that they're aware of the possibility but trying not to think about it because they can't handle the idea their son could have been dead long before they ever left the cryochamber.

For that matter there were far too few horrified/snarky responses in the game. Man I know that the dialogue system is universally panned but the protag really ought to feel fucking out of place and disturbed by what's going on but beyond one or two lines, the future shock goes away after your first convo with codsworth

I know Atlus likes to think their audience is kinda oblivious, hence why they explain things every five seconds in detail, but come on. Here's what is basically a teenage kid involved in law enforcement, has everything new party members have before they join (character portrait, heavy story emphasis), and clearly heard Morgana talk about pancakes when no one else mentioned them. I even went back in the dialogue log to check.

On top of all that, he is barely featured in any media surrounding the game (not even on the box) and conveniently joins your party a month away from when you get arrested. The only thing that helped it was that your party also picked up on it immediately, despite not vocalizing it. Also, thankfully that wasn't really the big twist of the game. Predictable, but the game makes up for it.

stalker games "story" was always meh at best but cop was retarded

the goal is finding out why the army choppers went down without explanation, at the end the "big reveal" was that anomalies change position and the choppers flew into them because they had outdated maps, the problem is that what is treated as critical information was common knowledge in the first game and directly related with the second's events, tl;dr the explanation to the mystery is likely the first hypotesis anyone with base knowledge of the stalker universe lore would make

C'mon man, identities was one of the bigger themes in the game. Literally the first thing you do is create your character. It wasn't supposed to be a big twist. It was meant to keep the player busy with the why, when and how of it all.
