the whole game would be about the frustration of not finding a good fight and being bored by the hero duties

Idea has been stated multiple times but here:
>Boredom bar and excitement bar
>Build up excitement by allowing yourself to get hit by strong attacks, which only come from strong monsters
>Gain boredom by getting hit by weak attacks from small fry and strong monsters can throw these out too
>Max boredom means game over because Saitama will get bored and go home, in-universe.

You would have to play as the monsters. Your goal is to cause chaos and destruction and you would have to fight the prominent heroes from the show which would become stronger the longer your destruction spree lasts. All this time Saitama is closing in and you have to be on the move or lay low for a while because it's instant game over when he arrives.

One could even experiment with monsters being 100% invincible and the heroes' attacks just slowing them down and incapacitating them so they'd be unable to escape saitama's inevitable normal punch which would be the only way to get a game over.

Just add mini-villains that you can choose to stop or not and other gimmicks the show uses to make it great and a limitation that you can't destroy the city. Also jumps and charges need careful powering so as you don't accidentally move the earth from its axis or jump to moon or something crazy.

I could see this working alongside the excitement bar idea.
As you fight, you build up a super meter like Devil Trigger or Ripper Mode that represents Saitama's interest in the action. When it gets to a certain level, you can tag him in for a couple of seconds to OHKO anything until he decides it's not worth his time and fucks off.
Bosses are aware of this and will drastically change their AI patterns if Saitama is on the field or if his meter is close to full.

Basically do what Asura's Wrath did. Action Brawler sections but MOSTLY an interactive Anime abusing hype to excuse excessive quick time events of different flavors.

Have quicktimes require a wide enough variety of inputs and include variation in the timing and accuracy and you can create an interesting network of things the player has to be paying enough attention to react to.

To kinda pound home the point of the show the game would have to embrace the ridiculousness as hard as it can. There would be plenty of crazy animated fights ending up in enemies getting PAWNCHED to oblivion, but there would also be a lot of Saitama going through his daily life. Have moments where the game throws around a super tense atmosphere as Saitama tries to race Housewives and Old Ladies to the best bits of Supermarket sales. Or cash in on meta and features moments where you are inputing quicktimes to input moves into a fighting game Saitama plays against King.


You could even include unlockable chapters where you play as Genos, Fubuki, Tatsumaki and Speed of sound sonic.

Going even further, you could add fluff content DLC where you spin famous fights or spoof famous Hero and Villain tropes.

Since the game itself wouldn't carry a ton of complexity, visually it'd have to deliver. You'd also have to really get the tone down pat. The idea would probably work out if you managed to deliver plenty of after-the-fact content too. If the game had a shitload of fanwank fun in it people would forgive that it is essentially a bad game with a great subject.
