You use the analog stick to control cursor (or maybe the touchpad on PS4). Some of the older Sims games had direct control of characters (you would switch between them).

I liked the older console Sims port (Sims/Bustin' Out) since they had more of a story mode. However, it had stupid limitations and one save of the Sims used to use up 4 MB/8 MB on a memory card.

the base game and all the goy packs must have sold like shit for EA to get this desperate. sims 4 needs another six xpacs to be anywhere near as good and 2 and 3 was. fuck, in 4 you can't even terraform the ground and build cool houses on hills and the world map looks like placeholder art, it feels like an early access game.

But when PC gets a 12 year old game (Disgaea), a 7 year old game (Vanquish) or a 5 year old game (Dragon's Dogma) you see dozens of threads per day of genuinely ecstatic PC players. Heck, even the fact that they can finally emulate an 8 year old game (Demon's Souls) puts them into an orgasmic state.

The contrast between the two is quite obvious and you can really see who's more thirsty for games.

Even if you accept the "open world and CAST made the game run like shit" argument (which is fair) it doesn't change the fact that you can't have separate foundations in build mode (e.g. in TS2/3 you could build an elevated house on a foundation and a shed on ground level in the backyard or something)

Yeah you just have to research every expansion to see if it fucks up the game, or in some cases makes it literally unplayable, if you want the shitton of furniture and clothes they released on their stupid online shop, you have to combine it in one single mod to make sure that again the game won't explode.
And don't play too much in one single session because the game will just randomly corrupt your save.

The Sims 3 was the best option when it didn't have so many expansions and shit but now it's a fucking chore to install it and play it despite the better hardware because of how unoptimized it is.
