My main complaint with Craft the World is it's reliance on the teleport spell to quickly grab resources.

Exactly. Also, it's way too short for a twenty dollar game. Next to no combat as well.

Bought Craft the World on sale, got maybe 9 hours out of it all in all. Good game.

It took me ~30 hours to beat the first world.
There are 2 more with unique bosses.

There is tons of combat. Mage dwarves are the best, if you craft potions they will use them. Catapults are powerful and can attack through walls but are vulnerable to fliers...

In the end game you can replace portal casting with elevators and mine carts.

I thought it was great for the $10 I spent.
