I own two copies of DS2. One on PC a friend gifted and a copy of Sotfs on ps4. I don't have ps plus though so I'd have to play in offline mode. Which should I play? I'm not big on pvp...

I think their purpose in the first Dark Souls is that if another player online in the same vicinity as you uses a miracle, a white circle will appear in your world, which can boost your own miracles.

In DS3 now they're used to lift disconnect penalties if you bail every time you're invaded.
