Morgana was too useless because he couldn't take a hit and barely anything was weak to fire making Ann sort of deadweight when it came to dealing with normal enemies (she does become good against bosses as a magic nuke by the end) so yes I actually did change my party. I also changed it in P3. Only in P4 did I not bother to.

I always take Zelos over Kratos.

Joker and Ryuji on physical attack DPS duty.
Morgana for heals and occasional nukes if the boss isn't wind resistant
Haru for for a bit of extra DPS but mainly to setup up reflective walls to shield Joker or Morgana from critical attacks and cleanse statuses.
Occasionally swap Haru for Makoto if I need defense buffed, Yusuke if I need more physical DPS, or Ann to debuff enemy attack and fire nukes.

Shiranda was actually a good character in capable hands. Fast as fuck and great MA = damaging items to kill bosses. Once she gets D.Lv 4 she gets 100 SP each attack for a turn of 10 MP full heal/10 MP half revive/30 MP party full heal before reverting to toss items again.
It's a shame Meru also shares the role of fast as fuck with good magic, and that Perky Step has such a good damage multiplier since she basically outclasses Shiranda for everything except dragoon spells

He's still entirely useless for most bosses and nothing but a liability. He can't gain any moves that let him shift position, gains no attacks that hit farther back than 2 rows which means a large number of bosses he simply can not target at all, and enemies like bosses that can't be pulled to the front of the line like the hag literally can not be hurt in any way by the leper.

He's a liability. He's good for trash mobs but fails to be effective at any boss battle which makes him a wasted slot and wasted development since MaA and Crusaders can handle both trash mobs and bosses, and the bounty hunter can hit just as hard but also stun easily and mark targets.

Every Partner can be great depending on the situation, honestly. Some like Nozomi and Hallelujah can feel more situational, but there are a few bosses where they shine.

Navarre is definetly the best partner, especially since i didn't have too many demons with Debilitate/Doping.
Honestly, they are all good, besides Gaston.
