I like GW2, it was pretty enjoyable for awhile.
The problem for me is that it doesn't really have anything to it that WoW doesn't do better.
The world is standard high fantasy, but so is WoW, plus WoW is way larger.
WoW's got mounts, which are more visually appealing than GW2's warp system.
They both have cute non-combat pets for vanity, but WoW has like 700 more and you can have pet battles for fun when you're tired of questing.
The only thing I can think of that really shines about GW2 is that their classes are pretty unconventional and unique like Mesmer and Engi. It's also one of the only mmos that lets me play a necromancer which is fucking weird because necromancers are in almost every high fantasy mmo, just never playable for whatever reason, so there's that too.

will the first expansion area be available for free to play people?

I was literally JUST finished max-leveling all 6 of my characters and finally had the expensive self-crafted custom exotic gear for each of them.. then they went and added ascended shit.
Also, 1600 hours and I NEVER found a legendary precursor. At that time, gold sellers were cancering up every place and every chat aswell.

The only fun endgame was the world v world and even that was ruined thanks to new gear rarity

The legendary armor debacle is so fucking hilarious. This armor was supposed to be in the game almost 2 years ago at this point but it just got endlessly delayed until not long ago. Now that it's finally out people are upset because the armor doesn't even dye very well at all, it almost barely changes color it's just a bright white at all times, and you also cannot even dye the glow effects so the glow effect is always white no matter what. Yet there are items in the gem store that you can dye the glow of, so it's clearly something they can do but just chose not to, despite it supposed to being LEGENDARY ARMOR.

To make things worse is that one of the devs who made legendary armor went on their dumb little GW2 stream with the host chick and for the whole stream just lied and made up shit in front of everyone. He said that you can dye the glow colors which is false, and he showed off how pretty you can dye the armor yet the computer he was running on blatantly was using sweetFX or any other similar program because the game's color pallet was super vibrant and different from how the game looks by default. He also said the reason it took so long was cause they spent a year making it (a whole fucking year just for 3 pieces of armor) but then scrapped it and started over so it took another year.

Also not to mention the legendary medium armor is a trenchcoat which is the biggest meme in the game because 90% of medium armor in the game are trenchcoats so medium armor players are really sick and tired of it.

Recently got into GW2, really like it. Probably the chillest and easy to play MMO out there.

Me and a buddy of mine played the absolute fuck out of GW1. I played that game all the way back to the beta. So when GW2 was announced I was hyped as fuck. And then it was released. Leveling up was fun as fuck, but it didn't take long to reach max level and when we did the game just died for us. I'm not even sure what it was exactly. The PVE didn't feel enjoyable. Kinda felt just like chain revives if I remember correctly. And it also sucked that you really didn't get much for endgame content, I mean gear was all pretty much cosmetic differences at max level.
