I wouldn't call it speedrunning, but I can finish Dark Souls pretty quickly.
I never played with the intention of speedrunning. It's more a racing game mentality of trying to beat your own time.

The first time I played Dark Souls it took me about 50 hours. Afterwards I tried a SL1 run, which took me about 8 hours. I saw a lot of stuff I could do better at, so I tried again and my completion time was 4 hours. Then I figured that if I could beat the game in 4 hours on SL1, a normal run must be way faster. So I did a few of those and now my fastest time is little over one hour.
That's like double the wr time, but for me it's just a personal challenge to make the game more fun. Although I lose interest at the point where you have to do really specific stuff just to save a few seconds.

Learned the route for Antichamber because I liked beating a game that I played for 15 hours in 5 minutes. Nothing serious.

Not even bragging but the first DS is beyond easy to speed run since you're broken as shit compared to enemies and the best weapons are found early.

I got sub-1 hour time and I'm happy with it even though it's not that good of a time so I don't think I'll do more runs.

It's not just any jump, it's a jump that was supposed to be a very hard but extremely rewarding skip. Of course anyone who knows anything about speedrunning the game would be paying extra attention to it.

I run L4D2 main campaigns%. The best I've got is 3rd.

I've done many speed challenges is multiple games (level speedrun achievements in Mirror's Edge, relics in Crash etc.), but I would never have patience to speedrun entire games. Smaller time trials are OK because they're bite-sized and failing doesn't take up time that much, but running an entire game at once and perfecting it all doesn't sound fun at all, wouldn't have enough interest in it.

Beat the current world record of monster hunter 3U by almost 5 hours and I could easily cut it down with routing. However I have no way to record my 3DS and definitively don't give a shit about recognition.

Yeah as a small kid before knowing the concept of speedrunning and only owned a small selection of games I tried to finish them as quickly as I could every day.

This usually meant starting a new game and finishing Banjo kazooie/OOT in a single sitting.

Last game I speedrun like this was Wind Waker after which I went to highschool and didn't have enough time to do these kind of things.

small selection of games + lack of internet makes you do weird things to entertain yourself man.
