Are these fucking things worth it? im thinking of dropping $400 on this. Or is there something I should know about these things?
seems like a retarded waste of money, op
>>385197131
>dropping $400 on a $25 computer with a $10 casing
emulate on your smartphone pls
>>385197131
>im thinking of dropping $400
The fuck is wrong with you? You could buy all the components and a 3D printer for less.
Shit already ordered it
I'm pretty sure used PSPs are 50 dollars are less OP, and also they can emulate PSP games in addition to everything PS1 and below.

This. The later versions of the PSP are also really lightweight.
The buttons on that thing look flimsy.
>>385197131
Fuck no, of course not. Get a PSP or DS with flash cart + emulators.
>>385197131
OP here, I have money to burn, i know that's not an excuse but I have a full time job, live rent free and car paid off so i have a lot of disposable income. I've tried emulating on my Vita but in general its very convoluted process just to get emulators working, when I do get the working it's annoying all the steps one needs to do to get them booted. I bought a GPD XD but the controls suck and the Emulators can be hit or miss. I like this unit because Raspberry pi 3 is no bullshit, just drop the roms and play. The screen is nice and the gameboy design seems nice *shrugs*
>>385197131
>im thinking of dropping $400 on this
Either save yourself like $250 and get a GPD XD or put the money towards a GPD WIN. Forget this overpriced shit.
>>385197131
>Dropping $400 on what looks like a cheap chinese knockoff
For fuck sake. Get a 3DS if its library interests you.
Get a Vita if all you're looking at is emulation. you want a better screen and you like weebshit
>$400
>>385198116
>I bought a GPD XD but the controls suck
Name one (1) thing about the controls that sucksyou can't
>Emulators can be hit or miss
Step 1: Get Robert Broglia's .Emu series of emulators for every system they're available for.
Step 2: Enjoy your hit or hit emulation.
>>385198116
>shrugs at you
>>385198116
Then get a PSP. You literally just throw in emulators and roms, and you're good to go, nothing complicated. Plus, they are just a fraction of the price of that knockoff.
>>385198116
you're a fucking idiot
I'm hoping OP is a troll.
But in case he isn't, get a PSP just like everybody else is saying.
The fact that PSPs are dirt cheap now, renders any homemade knockoffs obsolete.
Just what the hell even is a Raspberry pi anyway?
Is there anything preloaded on them?
What about GPD Win for non-emulation use
more of playing steam games, can they be streamed from pc to device?
>>385197131
>$400 for a $30 CPU, $15 or so case, $50 at most screen, $5 buttons and probably $10-15 speaker
This has to be b8
>>385199423
>$50 at most screen
You're severely overestimating the cost of a dogshit LCD like that.
I'd say no more than 20 bucks, if they're buying them in bulk it's easily 10.
>>385199764
Agreed, the screen in OP's pic looks worse than GBA display.
>>385197641
Cancel the order, I'm sure it's not too late.
Trust me if you plan to do any kind of snes/gba gaming you absolutely NEED proper shoulder buttons
>"psp is a great emulator"
>cant play genesis
>cant play snes
>cant play a good chunk of my fav gba games
>only supports an ancient version of mame with a limited rom set
why do people keep recommending these things? you can get yourself an xperia play for about $100 and play waaaaaaay more games
>>385200815
Where are you even looking? Being able to smoothly play Genesis, GBA, and SNES is exactly why people recommend the PSP.
>>385197131
Get this instead. It got a good controller, good emulation and you can use it as a phone.
It's also way cheaper than PiGGIRL 2 Raspberry pi 3
>>385197131
Meh, fuck the PSP emulation. Get a Micro and grab a flash cart. Good and done.
>>385197131
Don't buy it, at least get a smart phone with controller or literally any other option. The screen looks absolutely terrible.
>>385201220
>Using an android device that isn't running the latest OS for security.
If you like that, just pick up a PSP GO. you can get them for like 30 bucks.
>>385202549
How easy is it to hack one of those things?
