Why is this RPGkino so unknown and underrated while Diablo 2

I liked this game. I liked that it had three separate single player routes, for the Warrior, Conjurer, and Wizard. I think Nox may have actually been the very first game I ever played online.

I remember meeting a Wizard named Gandalf and then seeing another Wizard named Gandalf in another game and trying to talk to him like he was the same guy, because I was eleven and retarded. My dad had to explain what Lord of the Rings was to me.

The only reason anyone liked it was because of the multiplayer, which I have no experience with. From a singleplayer perspective, it was trash.

That's why. Nox was fun as fuck, but word of mouth back in the year 2000 wouldn't be enough to have it gain traction.
It didn't have Blizzard marketing hype nor the addictive hooks of grinding for stupid gear that let Diablo 2 stand around for years.

I don't get why you'd think Nox would ever be popular. It was an incredibly sterile game controlled by advertisers. That it had any lasting popularity is a miracle in itself.

Nox came out before DII. Both are great games but Diablo will last you much longer. Baldurs gate and II remain king in the RPG genre though (except for dragpnspear dlc, that game is a pile of shit.)
