PSO Dreamcast & Gamecube servers shutdown ages ago. Nothing but private servers now but if you want to go that route Blue Burst on PC is better.

Most old ass PC games I played when I was a teenager still have semi active and tight knit communities. CS 1.6 and UT2k4 still have plenty of players even though they're all autistic grandpas or BRs running ancient technology.

It is thanks to Suba games. It' is a great babies first MMO had a lot an impressive amount of shit to do early on but fell off late game. The game abolutly shined when it came to social interactions with other players (for it's time.) made alot of good buddies on there that I've lost touch with.

Its still up somehow, under Aeria games, but its completely dead. The game was in its golden age when chaser mode came out. still had the old bright poppy aesthetic and the walk around lobbies 9heard they brought those back but who cares game is dead) It feels after the chaser mode came out, the game did a big UI overhaul and all the new updates felt way different than old ones. probably developer change or w/e but the game slowly became shit, new maps were shit new designs were shittier and shittier, hacking explosion pay to win increased ect. Soul Master. This shit was a fun as fuck MMORTS, and then died suddenly out of nowhere in the middle of its CBT. Started with the devs saying the new class wasn't ready for launch and needed polish, then that they weren't satisfied with the other classes, then that the game was getting reworked, and suddenly it vanished off the face of the earth.

I saw some news a year or two ago about how it "came back," but have seen literally nothing else about it since then.

And the "highly recommended" anti-cheat r1q2.exe was questionable, that mod demanded dark environment settings and the ability for admin to detect what you where doing, playing with some console settings on your client would case the server to boot you.

The game is long dead and has absolutely no equivalent.

Very unique feeling from the begining of being lost and disoriented in space (my first time on it had me feeling like floating on my bed all night after exiting), towards the mastering all the movement possibilities. (You will never MPR boost to go sanic fast and melee ennemies with your bayonet again)

This game was too hard for its own sake. Casuals just couldn't get a grasp of the basic movements and the playerbase was tiny as fuck. DirectX 10 requierementd when XP was still the major OS didn't help.

I wish they would remake something similar today. It's so unique and it would shatter your brain with a VR option.
