How come the counter indicator doesn't appear over their heads when they strike? I just recently beat the game on hard difficulty and they were there.

Arkham Knight was a letdown for me, personally. I would've loved to see it continue the trend of showing how fucked up this asylum/city is on a supernatural level, or something new. The Red Hood story had been done before, and better. I don't think Dini was even part of this game. I enjoyed Pyg's quest though.

This series died to me when they switched focus from being a tight, small-focus AAA metroidvania with Asylum to being a bad GTA clone with metroidvania elements in the sequels.

Asylum is a kamige, the others are mediocre.

For all the shit people love to give the Arkham series, I've always loved the attention to detail and fun little moments it had. Its definitely one of my favorite series that I replay every once in a while.

i havent played Arkham city in a few years but werent you able to switch between batman and catwoman? im pretty sure they both had their own character specific riddler trophies in the main campaign. forgot if it was sectioned off parts of the game to switch from or the whole thing. if they could make it work in knight that would have been pretty neat

I still can't believe how fucking awful the Batmobile gameplay was. Did they not focus test it at all? Did no one go "hey guys this is actually pretty fucking boring when all you do is dodge and shoot 50 times in a row"

Its so ludicrous that I think they knew what they were doing. I mean why else would they crush the batmobile in front of you, giving you a brief moment of "oh thank god its finally over" before fucking you with the second batmobile? it has to have been planned.

I thought the Batmobile racing parts were good. Speeding through rainy neon streets to throw a villain in GCPD or get to the emergency. I wish they had focused more on that. The tank gameplay however just felt out of place. Had nothing to do with Batman. It was just this minigame they thought up and dedicated a fourth of the game to it. You could make a different game based around that tank combat and it would be decent, but not in Batman.

I really liked how Asylum and City were more like continuations of the Pre-2011 comics alongside the animated series. It gave the actions and story more weight. With the other games, it felt like the devs saw the other games and said "Hey, the Joker died in City, and Hugo Strange is really different. Let's make some weird shit happen in our game, too!" before they went and did shit like killing off random characters who hadn't even appeared yet, giving Batman a tacticool costume on his first year out, and overall running around with the same kind of logic that fueled Injustice's bizarre decisions. Just seeing it as their playground to fuck shit up.
