Even Croteam knows it's shit.

First and Second Encounters are my favourite FPS games. The level design is great, enemy designs are great, the devs were really creative with enemy placements are arena gimmicks. It's unfortunate that they could never that level again.
I didn't really like any of those indie games.

SS2 was the first FPS I ever played around the age of 11 or 12. It's no where near as bad as people claim. Especially the later chapters. In the end SS3 aged much much worse.

Favorite: TFE HD. Which is 8 years old at this point

John Blow is a good programmer. Braid is a technical masterpiece. I'm a 3rd year CS student with 5 years of C++ programing experience, and the flawless implementation of infinite time reversal still puzzles me. Sadly he has absolutely no taste. He should really only design the engine and leave the art direction to someone else.

It wasnt even the art desu, i dont mind memepoly really. What bugged me were:
1. Severe lack of graphics options
2. sluggish movement
3. Him assuming everyone thinks like him and making these contextless puzzles he thinks are self-explanatory.

Not to mention even throwing in puzzles whos mechanics havent been explained. TTP just did everything so right.

The last third was brutal, but maybe that's just my ADD. This is the only game I needed Adderal to complete. Feels like it was made in 1991, or something.

I only liked The First and Second Encounter. Couldn't enjoy the sequels at all.

It's been ages and I don't exactly remember but I guess I just didn't like most of the changes each did. I remember being really pissed off about enemies having hitscan weapons in SS3 though.
