How does /v/ feel about the Scribblenauts series?

Despite the terrible controls i really liked the first one since it had a fair share of action and puzzle stages, i really liked the action stages, i didn't really sandbox much in this game but i loved the idea of using whatever means i want to complete a stage
But then Super Scribblenauts happened and with it action stages became a rare commodity and the puzzle stages started having really dumb shit like "summon 3 animals" or whatever, and then the most recent games went with a format that i really can't appreciate, all i do in the recent games is summon mystic creatures and put them to dance for my amusement
Really wish i could play the first one with good controls
I far preferred the level-to-level structure of the DS games to the open world of the games after that.
So we all agree that the best mount was a tamed wyvern, right?

There is a collection of the first 2 games on DS that fixes the controls of the first game.

It's also like $10 on Amazon. Easily worth it even for just curiosity's sake.
It's fun.

I was lucky enough to find it in a bargain bin a couple years ago for $9 and it was well worth it having never played either game.

It gets boring fast.
Once you discover the overpowered things you trivialize the game. But I like the concept.
It was downhill after Super.
