>inb4 white advantage
Nah, you have to be some sort of super-autist to be good at that game.
I play Chess Time on my phone though, I'm not any good.
In my completely uneducated view, the next move I would make would be queen to F3? Stops the knight from moving because if you do then queen > pawn on F7 is checkmate, controls space on the right side of the board
>>385152743
I feel you man.
I hate playing but I want to get good at chess.
Hell, my strategy consists of killing every single enemy piece then promoting a pawn.
I suck.
>He plays the fried liver attack
>inb4 some weeb swoops ITT and starts mentioning Go
>>385152458
>joined chess club in high school
>thought I would be smart enough to be good at chess
>tfw never won a single game in four years
I just can't think far enough ahead. Makes me feel like a moron.
>>385152743
You should probably take on F7 with the knight, forking queen and rook. Pretty sure it's actually blacks turn here
>>385152458
lets see
https://lichess.org/bxsceaEQ
>want to be good at chess
>not autismo enough to learn proper chess tactics
That's a mating attack.
I think there's still time for black to defend, but he's going to lose something.
>>385153681
F7 with the rook, don't you think? Checks the king, king can't eat rook because of the knight.
>>385152458
But who moves now?
>>385153539
>joined chess club in grade 4
>everyone is retarded
>one kid knew a little bit about it from his dad
>he uses the scholar's mate on me
>I fall for it
>mfw I lose in 4 moves
>>385152458
No. I can beat pretty much anyone who doesn't know openings and plays and shit but I haven't put in the time to learn it.
>>385152458
bring out the pawn at the far left?
>>385152743
Well what's good at the game? Professional level? Cause yeah.. you have to be a super autist to study and practice the infinite amount of strategies and moves to be a pro.
But to chill with your friends and play some games, you need only a bit of common Sense and competitive spirit.
>>385153681
that guy here, F7 with the knight just makes you lose your knight to a king, losing a piece worth 3 points for a piece worth 1 point. Terrible move.
Also it's white's move because they've both made 3 moves so far and white went first.
>>385152458
THEY
https://lichess.org/YbNRWLrP
>>385152458
1600 points probable on whatever that chess scale is, but I don't play chess and don't know any moves so I just wing it. Would lose to anyone who actually plays it and knows tactics.
>>385153780
you mean the bishop, right? it's possible but it only wins a pawn, taking with the knight forces Queen e7 and next move you just take the rook.
I've never been interested in chess but I'm a complete sucker for spess muhreens so I find this really entertaining, and honestly I've improved a little bit from where I began. How should I respond to this shit? No matter what I do I always end up getting it up my butt
I'm reasonable in untimed games (like on gameknot or lichess, where you can take a whole day to make a move), but I really can't handle timed games. I always either run out of time or make blunders.
>>385153984
It's just like in video games, it's like you know how to play Street Fighter and your idiot friend doesn't know how to throw a fireball. If you are at all competent in the game at all you will win literally 99% of games, probably even 100% of them. Chess is the same, if you face someone who is supremely better then you, you will lose. What you said only works if all the players are at a strictly shit tier amateur level. Anyone who's played any game with an ELO system knows this. Players with higher ELO then you just shit on your life.
White Bishop @ c4 takes Black Pawn @ f7 and checks the king, forcing a castle?
>>385154193
by not moving your knight forward on your second turn, move the midleft one up a space instead
>>385153539
>friend teaches me chess on my bday, just to play it, no strategies or anything
>I played purely on instinct and rash decisions
>in 2 months get slotted into a makeshift school chess team and go to a team tourney
>first game is against the regional number 2 and winner of the big singles tournament the previous year
>mfw
I won 2, lost 4 and drew 1. It was a fun experience and our team won because we had the most points. I also remember some guy's younger sister asking me for my number. I declined because she was like 11 and I was 17 but that didn't stop my friend ...
Anyways, I never really played enough to think far ahead either. I think most chess players develop that insight from years of playing. I dropped the game the focus on A' levels and I haven't played in some years.
>>385154035
gg, but you still could have recovered from when you forfeit.
>>385154445
I've tried that. Didn't work.
>Move queen's pawn to d3
>D5 takes E4
>Take E4 with D3 because otherwise I'll just lose it
>His queen takes mine, forcing me to take his with my king, forbidding my from castling
Chess is hard
>>385152458
My entire strategy is war of attrition
My game's always end in stalemate
>>385154790
you can just take d5 and then force the queen to move by playing by playing knight c3 or Qf3 depending on how you opened
>>385154790
nono i meant on your second move in general, not in that situation specifically to move your D pawn
moving your king's knight when he blocks your E pawn with his own is just asking for that situation
It's blacks turn you nigs
>>385153825
>use it on my brother
>he flips the board
>mom makes him pick up everything
>>385154293
can't castle in check, so you'd be forcing him to move and break his ability to castle
>white advantage
Uh what? Everyone knows the black pieces have an advantage, they're stronger and just overpower the white pieces.
>>385155718
its not ya muppet
>>385154004
>that guy here, F7 with the knight just makes you lose your knight to a king, losing a piece worth 3 points for a piece worth 1 point. Terrible move.
How does going to f7 with the white Knight make you lose the Knight to the King when white's Bishop is also attacking the f7 square?
>>385153818
White
>>385156273
Are you saying black moved his pawn one tile at a time
>>385154004
Um I think it's black's actually, knight has moved twice.
>>385156252
White moves first. At the turbo autism top level of chess, whoever gets Black plays to a draw, not a win
>Know how to play chess
>Have ADHD so I'm absolute shit at planning ahead and have never won a single game in my life
>tfw
>>385152458
We need to petition to Hiroyuki to ban all vydia outside of chess on /v/. Very few games have the intellectual depth or complexity of chess.
>>385157097
What a crock of shit. I have ADHD as well and I've won plenty of games. Try gitting gud.
>>385157259
Tbh someone who has memorized a gorillion combinations will crush someone who's "very smart" but barely knows the basics.
It's a game of autism.
>>385152458
Its black's move, so d5?
Knight F7 is the best move. Chess isn't hard to learn or analyze. Watch analysis videos and you'll pick up quickly.
>>385157647
t. carlsen
Dunno, I'm actually incredibly defensive when playing and a bitchy queen from the opposing side kills me so I'm learning to play more aggressively on my phone.
>>385152458
I only learned enough to beat my dad at it. Take that you old fuck.
>>385152458
In ok, used to play a shit ton in my Chem class during break periods.
Nowadays don't play at all, since my friends always fall for 3 turn checkmate set-ups. Every fucking time.
