Gameplay in the originals mimicked MMOs and did it very well given it was an actual MMO itself.

The reason why they aren't doing the originals is likely because they'd have to actually make a new game as current demographics have no attention span for the original series gameplay.

Cyberconnect2 makes nothing but good games and releases from them that aren't licensed anime games should always be supported.

I just wish they'd do HD remasters of IMOQ too. Will still buy Last Recode the day it comes out on Steam, but I prefer the atmosphere of the original games. Plus Sign > Roots

Listen up you fucks, if you love .hack and want even the slightest possibility of the series being revived from the dead zone, BUY THIS GAME. I don't care how much you loved the first four games and all their menus, I don't care if you think CC and Bandai are jews for taking the easier series to remaster BUY THIS GAME. To be perfectly frank, seeing an HD remaster for PC is nothing short of a miracle pulled from Aura's asshole itself, and if you BUY THIS GAME it will be showing them that people still give a fuck about this awkward yet lovable niche series. But if you don't BUY THIS GAME it will be just the opposite and the most you'll ever see MAYBE is a Guilty Dragon localization that'll get canned after 3 months. But BUYing THIS GAME could lead to not only new arvs in the overall series but that coveted IMOQ remake you want anon-chan.

I just want CC2 to start doing more original projects. .hack//, Little Tail Bronx, and Asura's Wrath have all been exceptional works that barely get any love. Anything that can be done to get CC2 to stop making licensed anime games, the better.

Also, 2017 was the year (in game) that G.U happened, so it fit rather well as the year for a remaster to come out. (And explains why they'd start with G.U over the original 4. G.U would need less overall graphic tweaks versus the original 4, as they'd likely need to be rebuilt from the ground up for a new release.)

Could be wrong but I think they also wanted this to be a kick-off year for celebrating the franchise in general?
