TF2 cross advertising campaign making people think it was a TF2 clone and then of course Super MNC coming along, killing it, and then dieing shortly after.

Was fun while it lasted though, wish we still had this instead of what we have today.

Giving up on updating the console version and then killing the PC version with SMNC.
You know what would make the game better? Making it way harder to kill people and make it more like a MOBA!

The same that goes wrong most with indie, low-profile, multiplayer-only games, specially if they're not free to play.
Then SMNC came along actually being free but the grapples were too punishing for new players and most got scared away.
I really miss both of them.

Them giving a big fuck you to the community on Xbox, which was the only place that had their fans because it was Xbox exclusive before PC release. Gigantic at least did the smart thing of keeping their Xbox fanbase happy with content and updates.

smnc also had a horde mode that game was the shit. Never got a chance to play MNC but from what I saw it was fun. Compared to the garbage that is coming out now an example being gigantic

MNC was way faster, a juiced assassin could easily clear all turrets in a base for example but also stages were generally more open and it was easier to escape from the other team compared to SMNC where a little over extension could be heavily punished specially from the upper levels of the stage which stages in MNC lacked.
I get the hate SMNC gets from MNC players but I loved both.

Wait, I played both MNC and Super...What was the difference? I played them casually and liked both, so forgive me if I don't understand the nuances.

Super made bots and turrets way more powerful, made it so you can't rebuild turrets nerfed some moves and overall made the game slower and more punishing.

There was a lot of turtling in the early game especially getting grappled under an enemy turret meant certain death. It definitely had a better pace trying to not make you completely snowball. I do wish I would've played MNC seeing how much faster it was but my only experience is still with SMNC which with assassins was pretty damn fast at times loved the melee rolls

MNC made these mistakes, in this order:

Made SMNC more moba-like
Split the playerbase with a hoard mode
Split the playerbase AGAIN with turbocross, which was basically the old MNC in terms of gameplay
Actually tried to get people to farm fucking crypto currency to get skins
