Honestly I think OoT's Ganon sucks. Design is shit and the fight itself is very mundane. The one thing people focus on is "muh lighting", people got mad when the 3DS version changed it because it revealed just how fucking ridiculous the design looks.

The atmosphere is an important part of the fight. Not everything is about mechanics (although the fight does have weak mechanics).

I think it is quite good design. It draws inspiration from older version of ganon and mixes it with attributes from the new humanoid ganondorf. I only dislike the tail and way too big horns.
Comparing to new ganons we had after oot is interesting design.
