my ps4 controller keeps registering the pressing of the left analog stick even when i don't do it.

i was playing witcher 3 and the message "you cant do that here" appears CONSTANTLY. in gta 5, the character keeps switching in and out of stealth mode constantly. how the fuck do i fix this bullshit?
