Why every prestige class is shit?

I loved having strength checks to bash open locks in this game and damaging the items in chests seems like a pretty good trade off. Why don't more games do it?

best class is a combo of monk/SD/thief? for ultimate dodge stacking. prismatic dragons can't even hit my dude. its been a while so im not writing up the build, figure it out.

I remember the times I could play NWN on persistent rpg servers and it wasn't full of mentally ill larpers trying to be special snowflakes. People just had fun adventuring and occasionaly play a session with a GM. Good times.
