This is a really minor thing which bothered me in FF5 as well. The game gives the option to do what you want, but also pushes a "best" option. The stats are negligible, but it's weird.

Edea was my mage in both games.

Ringabel: Dark knight/Spell fencer
This is the only acceptable setup. swap characters to whatever job youd like, it doesnt matter. Did NG+ and kept everything but levels. Tiz was still doing 7k damage at level 2 with starting gear.

I recommend it. You might want to try out the demo first though if it's still up. It's more or less the same game except with some QOL improvements and has barely anything involving the bullshit they pulled in the second half of BD. The new Classes are neat, I'm a personal fan of the Ranger, but some of them seem a bit gimmicky to me, but that's just me.

Did anyone else think the repetition was not bad? You can go through the first cycles pretty easy if you don't enjoy the boss personalities and the fights where thy team up is a lot of fun. I thought it was a neat boss gauntlet before the endgame.

I think Lenna is the fastest so I made her my physical dude to help with the job's slowness. Krile is cute so she gets the support job, Faris looks like shit as a Dragoon so Bartz has that instead.

I made a her a monk at start and unlike everyone else, never changed her class. I've got a valkyrie, red mage, and a pirate, but she consistantly puts out more damage with her fists than anyone else does with weapons.

I probably should've left Tiz a monk too, he was on that same path until he fell behind in JP.
