Bowser's Inside Story and Dream Team are also pretty good, so I'd recommend playing them as well. Dream Team is pretty tutorial heavy though, which is a shame.

The main game is pretty easy, the bonus worlds are a little trickier and the final unlockable level is hell. So it's pretty much on par with every Mario game since Galaxy. Amazing game to speed run and replay though.

Playing Ever Oasis right now. I've just unlocked synthesizing and did the dungeon with the kid who can turn into a ball. This game feels very zelda-like in its dungeoning/exploring and is extremely comfortable to play, although it feels very linear despite having a bit of an 'open world' and thus kinda kills my fun ("Solidified Chaos blocks your way!").

Nothing. The 3DS is the worst Nintendo handheld ever. Most of the games are simply "okay" at best, the circlepad is fucking awful to use and it's the only Nintendo handheld I've ever hand that has "broken" during its lifetime (the cover on the circlepad is coming off and it occasionally locks up when I'm playing). I'm hoping that Samus Returns can salvage this shit console for me.

My top screen is IPS and the bottom is tn, but I'm always noticing the slightly different color tints between the two. The bottom has brighter whites and seems warmer, the top is almost too "cool".

It will definitely have multiplayer (as in trading and battling), every Pokemon game has those. As for cross-play with SM, Game Freak didn't bother to patch XY to be 100% compatible with ORAS so they probably won't bother with this. You probably can't trade all the new stuff in USUM with SM.

More I think it's the past few gens haven't felt like main series games. They feel more like spinoffs. The protagonists looks became too generic, and most of the npc models look off; it's weird how much more of a personality you could gather from a 2D sprite in comparison. Z moves seem too silly of a concept since you watch your character do sentai poses. That ontop of mega evolution adds too much nonsense when they could have just reworked abilities or stats.

Well the game will be linear as it gets if you just follow the main story quest. But I find that the free roaming option really opens up when you have acquired a solid number of villagers with all the right skills. After all the whole point is to re-explore dungeons that you weren't able to proceed before when you didn't have villagers with the right skills.

You can transfer pokemon to the next gen starting with Gen III. Just requires you to own a first gen DS system with the GBA slot, link cables, and beating each game and getting to the point where you can transfer.

Well, transferring from Gold/Silver/Peal etc to White and Black is rather slow process, but it goes by 6 at a time, then transferring from White and Black to the 3DS games its a whole PC box at the time, pretty fast.
Plus if you have a DS Lite you can transfer from GBA the DS games to 3DS games.

Ive been using pic related for quite awhile on my 3ds, and have been enjoying it. Recently, however, Ive noticed some games have slowdown, such as the castlevania titles.
I looked into it, and it turns out its most likely because of my sd card which makes sense as its a shitty old 2gb i found lying around.
That being so, does anyone have any recommendations for a good, cheap sd card to fix my slowdown issue?

Dawn of Sorrow is a DS game so you could just play a copy of that, or use a Flashcart.
Aria of Sorrow, your best bet is actually hacking it to install a GBA VC inject.

Gba is decent for rpgs, but outside of that you need frameskip 1 on for most things which is kinda shit, but playable.
On snes, most games run pretty shit. Earthbound is fine, but action games are practically unplayable.
Also I got mine for $40, guess they've gone up in price recently. If you have a cfw 3ds then it isnt worth it, just get a budget flashcard for ds games and use the system for the rest.

No, it couldn't, at all. The DS has GBA hardware, so it's not emulation, and the SNES emulators on DS are fucking garbage. Also, there aren't any GBA VC games, the ambassador GBA games are the only ones, and only for ambassadors. The 3DS also has GBA hardware in it, but they've never released GBA games otherwise. Furthermore, regarding SNES emulation; homebrew has proven that the O3DS does indeed suck at emulating SNES and that the N3DS spec bump actually makes a difference.

How complicated is this to set up? I'm having a hard time understanding how it functions exactly. Do you need an Amiibo and then need to write over that Amiibo with downloaded data to mimic other ones, or do you need NTAG215 strips for this? I don't have an Android phone so I can't do it that way.

It's a real fucking chore and I hope they don't lock content off because I am still getting plenty of mileage out of my 3DS.
