The game is fucking difficult but it's not artificial difficulty or some retarded unfair stuff, enemy patterns change and boss attack patterns change with difficulty changes.
Some of the best graphics on the Genesis, you can switch between weapons you pick up so you have different tools to deal with different situations the way you want.
