ITT: Blind characters in video games.
Will video games/anime/fiction ever make a blind character that is actually hindered by their blindness and doesn't have magic super sensory powers that effectively negate it?
we talkin' straight up BLIND or "blind but can see anyway through some magical bullshit"?

Fuck the motherfucker had c4. How the fuck do you miss with a goddamn rocket launcher
One of the blue girls in Ys Seven.
>No one has posted best blind bro
Fucks wrong with you people.

>playing splatoon 2
>everyone is low level except one level 20
>he's put on our team
>here we go, gg ez
>level 20 is holding a sniper rifle in turf war
>m-maybe he has some trick to make it good for turf war
>he spends the entire time taking pot shots from one spot close to our base
>well we can still win, maybe my other teammates are playing really well... where are they?
>one guy painting our base using the brush's thin strokes
>other guy seemingly gives up and stares at a wall
>match over
>sniper is at the bottom of the scoreboard
>lower than the guy having a staring contest with the wall

But not you, right?

Kinda funny how it's always your team that loses but it's never your fault, isn't it? What are the odds of that happening?

I've been playing FPS since CS pre-1
He's not deaf though.

he made sure everyone knew

Well I'm sorry to hear that
>Dad went blind 8 or so years ago
>I recently got into fooling around with game development
>dad was always interested in video games
>want to make a game that a blind person could play easily
>No idea where to start beyond having strong narration
fuck.

Well obviously it would be 100% auditory
Has to have controller support due to the relative easeness in button placement
And pretty much a text adventure game

Frogger but you play as a blind guy.

Haptic feedback. Vibration for steps, weaker when sneaking, louder when running. For both your actions and the enemy's, if there is one.
Some sort of VR-like binaural sound with a clear source you can follow.
Look into horror games with dark environments. There may not be that many visual cues to begin with and I'd be willing to bet you can transfer all of those into sound effects and narration.

you are underestimating how well the human body adapts to these kind of things
>>385101435
That's a good idea. I might start out with something smaller like an text adventure like >>385101349 said, but it would be my goal to eventually make a "real" game like you're talking about, and one that wouldn't just be fun for a blind person, but has merit beyond the novelty.
>>385101153
Text adventure with good narration, music, background noise.

Only true blind person, not superhero with blindfold. Usually blinds in games are monsters or enemies, that must be tricket by sound distractions
