GU is probably easier to port since the assets and such are so old in the first one, plus due to that it may be harder work since the gameplay is very archaeic and would be more difficult to refine. I think they might remaster it if things go well with GU remaster. Though, I don't know if GU sold a lot better.

At least they're bringing back cut content in the HD version though. That's more care and effort than most devs out there.
The first 4 games really didn't have a focus on your entire party. It was just Blackrose, Balmung, Wiseman, and occasionally Mistral, GU has a focus on your entire party, and that's why they wanted to do it first. Or so they say.

honestly the GU remaster was probably done first to help sell the future IMOQ remaster

also regarding the IMOQ battle system, fragment removes the pause while in menus and has customizable button shortcuts for items/skills. a remaster would probably reuse that.

This game was such an instrumental part of my childhood. I loved sign, then when roots happened I played 6/7 games (quarentine was over a hundo by this point so I just watched it online), and got involved with a fan community for a few years.

To think, I spent hundreds of hours of my life with certain people online, and yet we never met one another and probably won't talk to one another again. Karu, Rott, t0yo, Dani, Tren, infoman, joe, hitari, etc.

Yeah, they're highly highly related but honestly about half the people I know who like the series started with G.U. and had no problems. There are a lot of references to the overall .hack universe, but not in a way that hinders your experience, it just makes everything a little cooler when you watch one of the animes or read one of the mangas.

Odin Sphere on PS Vita is comfy ∞
As a matter of fact, most RPGs on handhelds are the comfiest games ever.

There are only a few references to the first game in G.U. mainly the Kite model being used and one returning character being the biggest ones I think. Then they talk about the events of the previous game a little. I never managed to play the last G.U game.

It's nice to see but not needed. The first game is very unbalanced in many things and needs a lot of polishing for a hd remaster. G.U didn't have a lot of issues. I just hope Rengeki crazyness is lessened. I annoyed a few family members with it.
