The main villain's portrayal in Golden is a bit different than in the original. Persona 4's Bitches And Whores Man was a sociopath asshole, but in P4G he's been turned into a more of a sufferer and a victim. I think the original version has certain charm that the later releases lack, since they don't try to redeem him that much.

Golden is unquestionably better. Only thing original has over it is maybe the original dubs for 2 of the characters, but the Golden versions of them are generally an improvement, and it has a lot more content like more calendar time.
