Midir is much more challenging

Why is Laurence considered hard? Isn't he just a cleric beast that becomes even easier in the second phase because he loses his legs? Or does he have some kind of amazing ultimate OHK attack and I'm so lucky that I've never seen him use it? Even the Living Failures have killed me, but not him.

Only his first form is difficult. Second gives large telegraphs and can be easily viscerals. Laurence and Orphan were a lot harder imo. Laurence for his insane damage and being an endurance fight as he punishes heavy agression, and Orphan for being stupidly agressive and agile.

No. I have played thousands of hours of all the games, and Loran Darkbeast is harder than any other From Software boss.

The main problem with him (assuming you un-lock the camera) is that he is so fucking fast and skittery and you can only really hit him in his bony little legs. Every time you get near him he tries to hit you with an insanely damaging electrical explosion. With all the chasing him around you do, you barely have enough stamina to swing at him more than once or twice before you exhaust yourself and have to run away from that damn explosion again.

You're supposed to focus on one limb at a time so you can knock him over, but all his limbs are super strong and when he gets back up he buffs himself with so much electricity that that explosion gets the power to almost one-shot you from 30 feet away.

Loran Darkbeast is the final boss of the Lower Loran chalice dungeon. He is like Paarl times 100. You could be level 500 and he would still be a huge pain

If he barks fire: quickstep backwards
If he swipes fire: quickstep backwards
If he charges: quickstep sideways
If he bite combos: wait for him to finish, then smack his snout once or twice: it'll break after several hits, dealing double damage to him for a while
If he barfs lava: smack his back legs, they'll probably break
If he explodes: go backwards

His tells are huge, start out with the above and you'll be able to finesse extra hits in here and there once you learn them and his spacing.

Combination of large health pool (although most BB bosses are pretty tanky), hyper agressiveness, high damage, and being fast as fuck makes him a pain to deal with. Unlike Gherman or Maria, his parry windows are super small, so that makes parrying not as a simple solution as with other bosses

He telegraphs pretty heavily. He just isn't that hard. Ludwig was challenging. Defiled Chalice bosses were hard, but mostly because of the limitations from the chalice, but they were still harder than Orphan.

His tells are not huge, they are very fast, the only sure way is to bait him until he gains more combos and then just try to get the one attack you can work with.

I cannot beat him with my twink no matter how hard I try, he's fucking impossible. Ball and chains Giant is easy compared to twin swords Giant when they're both FRC dungeon bosses. Fighting ball and chains in the FRCs is just like fighting him in the story chalice - where he can one-shot you almost any time he manages to hit you - but he has always been much easier to dodge to compensate for this. Twin swords giant in the FRCs all of a sudden can one shot you or take 90% of your health with every single attack, and he is way harder to read

Depends on whether or not you choose to summon, your build, and whether it's NG or NG+, all important factors. Fume Knight or Midir were the hardest for me with summons, while Orphan of Kos was harder solo.
Ludwig was a joke in NG, but harder solo than Kos in NG+.
DS1 and Demons' all had really easy bosses considering they were either, slow, did little damage, or died quickly.
Charm of RPG games is that you can play around in different ways, and find somethings hard or easy in different situations.

All you need is a +6 wheel with rapid poison gems. I've got one that says it does +56 RP per hit, and if you trick the wheel it hits them with that like 3 times per attack.

Two tricked dash-R1's to the Undead Giant and the rapid poison will instantly take away like 1/6th of its health bar
