Honestly stretch goals are a flawed concept, either you're cutting originally planned content or you're shoveling on extra work that you might not be able to handle. We've seen it backfire many times (like MN9 with its absurd amount of planned console versions). Devs should just have a strong plan in place from the start. Of course this is assuming that your end-goal is a quality video game, not obtaining the most cash possible.
