majority of loot is randomized and scales to your level. Nothing you find really excites you.
all enemies have an extremely short tether that you will cross unintentionally more often than not. At this point they ignore you and start walking back to the center of the area or hang around to get hit easily
witcher senses are only ever used when the quest requires it and is just hold right click to follow quest arrow. you cant actually track monsters or anything out in the world(and why would you need to? theyre all tethered to a small location and never move away)

6/10 game. Had potential, wasted it.

Unironically thought it was a good 6/10. That might sound like an oxymoron but hear me out. Yeah the story is a 6/10, the combats a 6/10, but the game retains this rating during basically the entire playthrough. Its a really long open world RPG with lots of content that's just above the 5/10 middleline.

Basically would I ever play it over something that I actually wanted to play? Nah, but its a game that is easy to play for long periods of time without killing yourself. Its plain, familiar, and long and does everything "pretty okay".

So you fall into the "hated it" category. I dunno, I dug the setting, the level of customization in gear/classes, the touch that EVERY change to your gear was reflected all the time, even in cutscenes and the combat flowed well. Also, you get the sense of being weak to feeling more like a god as you leveled up; combat shifts dramatically, so long as you play to your strengths and learn how to manage polarities and mob types correctly.

With patches and the planned sequels, it could have been polished into something far greater the what it presented in the half-rushjob we got.

The campaign is short and has repetitive combat. Final boss is a QTE. It has a cliffhanger ending. But that's not why it was a 6/10. It was a 6/10 because they killed what could've been a great multiplayer experience by not having dedicated servers. Within a month nobody was playing it any more because of insufferable lag. Class system was dumb. Doing a balanced path allowed you to do pretty much everything, and was clearly the best option. It was poorly thought out. Same with the combat, certain weapon types were clearly better than others, and there were JUST upgrades, no sidegrades or any real varied options, just use a weapon till you're able to use the better version, etc.

Areas were mostly large and empty, and shaped too much like zones or levels instead of feeling natural like an adventure game should. It was trying to be too many things, and didn't quite manage any of them.

It also had 0 weapon variety.

Meanwhile HUMAN NPCs sport spears and they could've easily made axes with the same moveset as hammers

It stops being fun after another hour when you realise the game is way too easy even on the hardest difficulty. You out level the main story without even doing side quests.

All the quests were garbage. On top of that if you do sidequests you will inevitably outlevel any challenge.
The crafting is busted as shit too. When I noticed I hadn't used a single health potion in three hours I took off my armor and replaced it with peasants clothing and I still couldn't die because the life drain on my crafted weapons exceeded any damage enemies could do.

Does it mean, "Playable but I had no intention of finishing it"?

Is a more "doesn't have a significant flaw" rather than "is amazing in every way". Short, boring cast didn't really help either.

I knew people are gonna scream "bait" from the top of their lungs, but I was never amazed or blown away by anything this game did.

In this context it seems to mean exactly what you would think "6/10" means on a normal 10 point scale. If 5 is "eh, it exists" it could be compared to something like plain oatmeal. 6 means it's just interesting enough to rise above that "eh". Oatmeal with brown sugar. You might not recommend it to other people when given the chance, but you probably don't regret playing it and in fact found some enjoyment in it. It had its ups and downs - maybe it was pretty buggy or maybe it just wasn't as good as it could have been - but you might be willing to give the developer's next game a shot because it's clear they're giving things an honest shot.

I actually really liked the combat and weightiness, just needed some more enemy and mission variety, I think it's at least a 7/10, if not almost an 8
I guess I'll go with this since it's the first thing I saw when I looked up at my shelf, a total letdown compared to the original Unreal but I enjoyed some parts of it.
