V is better from a technical standpoint (and I love it) but I had a lot more fun with IV, probably because I like the map a lot.

Also most of his kills were part of the work he was given or to defend himself/save his cousin from the Russian gangsters and other groups.

Niko is pretty clearly presented as a flawed character who would like to change but keeps falling down the same crime-ridden path he's been following.

I think they had something similar to it in GTA Online but because matchmaking is fucking terrible it takes forever to get a game of it set up (not to mention people quitting in game and fucking up the server for that cop outfit glitch).

I quit playing gtav like 2 months after it came out.
As you said the online was fucking boring, it was violent ducks for weeks and you couldnt do hardly any missions the servers always shit themselves.
I did a bank robbery after they got released a year after and never could finish it since everyone kept dying and quitting.

I played with the GTAG crew on PS4 a lot last year which was a ton of fun but then it seemed like everybody just fucked off of it.
I really miss playing the Dark Knight Rises gametype one of them made with assloads of small and giant planes crashing after the person with the briefcase.

V's main story was okay, but I really liked its characters and the storytelling method it employed (balance out the characterization between the main story and the side content instead of having it all in the main story) because I loved hunting down dialogue in IV, and V was like an extension of that, the method was more conducive to an open world, and it felt more realistic too, in real life, you're not going to learn absolutely everything about other people when the big events between you and them occur; smaller moments are needed to get to know them better in between those big moments, and I thought there were plenty of those in the side content, especially the hangouts and solitary activities
