SSF emulator

Mednafen recently got a Saturn core that runs games very well. Also has a Retroarch core version as well. If you wanna emulate a Saturn game, it's your best bet.

Saturn emulation is alright but you need a powerful system to be able to run it, which means you can't emulate it on phones or the Pi unfortunately. It's not like you're missing much anyway, there are like 3 good games on the Saturn.

SSF is okay (remember to turn compatibility to max or you'll have issues, it requires a disc mounter to play downloaded games, make sure you have bios files for each region (or I think you can just patch the region in your images)). IIRC, it's also known to have input lag issues (it's really noticeable in Sonic R, a game that has it's own slight input lag on hardware). Fairly fast, decently accurate.
Mednafen is supposed to be fairly decent, IIRC it's got heavier system requirements than SSF.
Yabause still kind of sucks but it's supposed to be getting better.

it's not as easy as emulating PS1, but it's not particularly hard to get started with
any machine from 2010 onward that's not a fucking netbook should be able to run SSF

mednafin has high support for saturn emulation. just make sure your game rip is bin and cue, and drag and drop the cue.

kinda glad i dont have to keep random versions of ssf around anymore.
like mednafin is running clockwork knight, Bug and nights fine. also fighters megamix.

I use Mednafen and it runs decently on my high end PC, there are a few frame drops on some games but I imagine it's due to the emulation, I recommend getting Redump rips as those have a higher compatibility rate, also don't forget about the bios.
