Got as far as the first archstone or whatever it's called in the tutorial. The game froze when I used it and the load screen came up. Other than that it ran at a blinding fast 15 fps average and the sound cut out the first time I attacked the first enemy. It's not really playable for me right now but it's probably because my graphics card is old and not DX12.

Am I missing much if I play this on PC? I'd like to play with the online features but I have a feeling there's not much to miss out on anymore

The Nexus has a feel to it that none of the other games have replicated for me. DeS as a whole has a really awesome lighting engine that has a super otherworldly feel.
Firelink is great, but it's like a depressing, beat-down home base rather than a sacred, echoey place like the Nexus.

I love the soft glow on soul-form people, things in the Nexus, and even your little lantern trinket thing you carry around.

Dark Souls had more online features, and I played it twice: offline first after pirating it, then online after it went on sale much later. In fact, I liked my offline playthrough somewhat better without all the intrusive messages strewn everywhere and the laggy, progress-halting invasions.
