Play an action game if you want hard bosses that push your skill level.
Play Demon's Souls if you want a boss that makes logical sense, fits the lore, has a strong tone and atmosphere, and gives you a unique feeling you can't get in other games.

You'd have to be the kind of person who can't play DMC or Bayonetta for jack shit to think that the strength of a Souls games is in its combat.
Because the strength of the combat itself is in the tension and atmosphere it brings, not anything CLOSE to complexity or a high potential for mastery.

There's literally no skill involved in fighting a Dark Souls 3 boss aside from memorizing the boss' attacks. None. So play a DMC game instead.
Unless you're actually a shitter who just wants an EBIN hard game to brag about being so good at despite it not being very hard at all.

DS2 has fucking nothing on anything. Old Ivory King fight was neat and that is literally it.

Maiden Astraea literally kills herself. The battle is fighting her knight who doesn't move and reacts with ONE attack if you approach.

The storm king is literally grabbing a sword and standing behind a pillar while he flies by and dies.

The old monk only works with online, and it has a 33% success rate linked to it. 33% garbage fight with lagfests/disconnection/literally someone doing nothing, 33% offline NPC that dies doing nothing, 33% alright pvp experience.

The penetrator and Allant are the closest thing to a normal boss; and if you aren't doing everything wrong the first is even tanked by an NPC invalidating most of the fight to begin with.

Only after the fact. Ebin Artorias rip offs were not the norm. Weird varied encounters were the norm, then everything became 'fight the big man/big beastie' with very little atmosphere for flavour to be found.

DS3 did this the worst. Its gimmick bosses were the only ones that stuck out to me because they were different. Ancient Wyvern, Deacons and Wolnir all had interesting presentation and weren't dodge-R1 fests. Everything else I can barely remember.

I won't admit to this bullshit. And it has nothing to do with the fact that I never played Demon's Souls and only played Dark Souls.

DS2 is the biggest offender of the "boss prepares to attack, roll through it and stab them in the back as he stands there for a couple seconds with no reaction and then repeat" problem that plagues souls games, especially since it also has the most bosses in the series.

In what meaningful way are pursuer, dragonrider, flexile sentry, nakaja, mytha or smelter demon different? they have slightly different timings on when you abuse iframes to roll through their moves and they look different, but its the same boss fought 6 times (and that's not even close to all of the bosses like this in DS2)

Praying to high heaven that my PC will be able to run this, it's never been good with emulators in general.
I've got a PS3, but I never feel comfortable playing console games anymore, since I can't just stop whenever I want or alt tab to send messages or whatever when I'm in a safe spot.
